The Masamune razor is Tatara's first razor. It is designed with the appearance of a classic razor but with unique touches that look to the future. Its minimalist design conveys our vision to you, supported by purity, elegance, and simplicity.
The titanium razor is roughly 55% lighter than the steel version. When it comes to maneuverability, Tatara titanium tools are game-changers. They provide more control over the amount of pressure, angle, and direction of the blade. Thus, the shave adapts to your technique.
The Masamune razor provides a smooth and efficient shave thanks to its small blade gap.

Open Comb Structure
It is designed to cut longer and thicker hairs by guiding the beard towards the blade. Its dimpled design allows more lather to remain on the face and the blade to come into closer contact with the skin.
With a quality and craftsmanship that goes far beyond what is apparent, and a special blade locking system that prevents any blade wobble or play, it is ideal for experienced users looking for a close shave. Suitable for intermittent use.
With a 0.73 mm blade gap and -0.10 mm blade exposure, skin contact is kept reasonable, yet it offers an open comb effect that provides more efficient cutting.

TATARA About
The name TATARA (鑪) is inspired by the furnace that master blacksmiths in ancient Japan used to melt steel for Samurai swords. Like Japanese katanas, our products are made with extreme dedication and attention to detail. Combining this with the obsessive precision of modern engineering.
Based in Porto, Portugal, we are an engineering team passionate about product development. We came together in September 2016 to imagine, design, and develop TATARA's shaving products.
Perceiving a market saturation in DE razors that were not different, we dare to imagine a clean and elegant safety razor (SR). This is strongly supported by minimalism and design, with the aim of achieving a smooth and efficient shave.
During product development, we experimented with various combinations for blade gap, angle, and exposure. Through safety razor users, we perceived that features such as vibration and blade alignment are actually very important for achieving a comfortable and smooth shave.
By ensuring machining tolerances (0.02 mm), we can reinforce the precise placement of parts and limit blade movements between the razor's plate and cap.
However, we realized there were still other variables influencing the shaving experience!
We knew we could help with wet shaving, and we had found our mission!
