Starting April 1st, you will find most Gillette blade refills in the United States at lower prices online and in most retailers. This is a real price reduction, not just a temporary promotion. For the same products you’re used to – no compromises on quality, period. Finally, we’re thrilled that over 200,000 people have switched back to Gillette in the last couple of weeks. Many of you tried different products and we’re proud that you’re returning to the Gillette quality you know you can trust. How to Use

Prepare your skin for shaving: For a perfect traditional wet shave, always shave during or after a warm shower. Apply lather to your skin to soften it and prepare your beard for shaving. Applying shaving cream with a shaving brush helps remove dead skin cells and lifts the hairs, preparing them for a comfortable shave. Also, if possible, allowing the lather to sit on your skin for at least 1-2 minutes will further soften your beard and allow for an easier shave.
Initial grip: The safety razor should be held at a 30° angle to the skin. To find the correct angle, first hold the razor parallel to your skin. Then, slowly lift the razor until you feel the blade touching your skin; this is the 30° angle you should maintain. You can be sure that after about 5 shaves, you will naturally find the right angle and gain practice.
First pass: The most important rule to know when using a safety razor is to not press down. Allow the razor to do its job with its own weight. Make the first pass in the direction of hair growth. Do not go over areas where you feel the razor isn't cutting your beard. A safety razor cuts the beard gradually; it does not give a close shave in a single pass. Save these areas for the second pass. One of the simplest causes of irritation is repeatedly pressing and running the razor over the skin. Do not allow this!
Second pass: After reapplying lather to your skin, make the second pass in the direction of hair growth again to remove any remaining hairs. If you want a closer shave, you can shave perpendicular to the direction of hair growth (from nose to ear or ear to nose).
Rinse – moisturize: After shaving, rinse your skin with cold water, then moisturize, nourish, and refresh it with aftershave balm or lotion.
