The Tatara Shaving Towel is made from high-quality cotton with a weight of 600 g/m2 and a single yarn, for greater softness and absorbency.

This minimalist towel features a high cotton grammage to provide a unique touch, tremendous absorption capacity, and an unparalleled soft feel to the touch.

Its size is calculated to envelop the face with maximum comfort during shaving, to moisturize it before starting to shave, or to dry it after each shave.

Face towels are usually placed outside the tub, next to the sink, so a hanging side was provided for the towel where the hand-suede logo would be visible even after hanging.

Quality 100% cotton towels shed some lint during the first use. This is due to the use of low-twist yarns which provide great softness in use. Therefore, we recommend machine washing your towels three times in cold water before the first use to balance out the shedding.

The name TATARA (鑪) is inspired by the furnace that master blacksmiths used to smelt steel for Samurai swords in ancient Japan. Our products, like Japanese katanas, are made with extreme dedication and attention to detail. Combining this with the obsessive precision of modern engineering.

Based in Porto, Portugal, we are an engineering team passionate about product development. We came together in September 2016 to imagine, design, and develop TATARA's shaving products.

Noticing a market saturation in indistinguishable DE razors, we dare to imagine a clean and elegant safety razor (SR). This, strongly supported by minimalism and design, and with the goal of achieving a smooth and efficient shave.

During product development, we experimented with various combinations for blade gap, angle, and exposure. Through safety razor users, we perceived that characteristics such as vibration and blade alignment are, in fact, very important to achieve a comfortable and smooth shave.

By ensuring machining tolerances (0.02mm), we can reinforce the proper positioning of the parts and limit blade movements between the razor's plate and cap.

However, we realized there were other variables that still affected the shaving experience!

We knew we could help with wet shaving, and we had found our mission!
