In the Mantuan countryside, there is still someone who continues to produce handmade luxury umbrellas using a brand name that will celebrate its 65th anniversary, and export them to every corner of the world: Pasotti.
The company stands out for its creativity and consistent material research, all exclusively Italian: enameled brass handles, Swarovski® crystals, precious silk fabrics, and magnificent decorations.
The owner, Ms. Eva Giacomini, states, "The company was founded in 1956 by my mother, Ernesta Pasotti, who started producing one-of-a-kind umbrellas, sometimes selling them directly even by bicycle. Later, together with my father Vittorio, who mainly took care of sales, the company transformed from a small artisan company to a large one with over a hundred employees. Today, since there is no room for such industrial production, we have downsized and focused mostly on limited edition umbrellas. We produce 40 thousand handmade umbrellas a year: very high-quality products sold in the most prestigious boutiques in 75 countries. 93% of our turnover is made abroad, mainly in Europe, North America, Russia, and China. In addition to the Pasotti collection, we are proud of a series of private label collaborations with the most fashionable brands worldwide."
And thanks to the new generation, Nicola and Andrea Begotti, the overseas market continues to grow, with a presence at the most important fashion weeks and significant investment in the Web, thus increasing brand awareness.
