In the Mantuan countryside, there is still someone who continues to produce handmade luxury umbrellas using a brand name that will celebrate its 65th anniversary and export them to every corner of the world: Pasotti.

The company stands out for its creativity and consistent research into materials, all exclusively Italian: enameled brass handles, Swarovski® crystals, precious silk fabrics, and magnificent decorations.

“The company was founded in 1956,” says Ms. Eva Giacomini, the owner, “by my mother, Ernesta Pasotti, who started making one-of-a-kind umbrellas that she sold directly, sometimes even on her bicycle. Later, together with my father, Vittorio, who was mainly involved in sales, the company transformed from a small artisan company into a large one with over a hundred employees. Today, since there is no room for such industrial production, we have scaled down and focused mostly on limited edition umbrellas. We produce 40,000 handmade umbrellas a year: very high-quality products sold in the most prestigious boutiques in 75 countries. 93% of our turnover is generated abroad, mainly in Europe, North America, Russia, and China. In addition to the Pasotti collection, we are proud of a series of private label collaborations with the most fashionable brands worldwide.”

And thanks to the new generation, Nicola and Andrea Begotti, the overseas market continues to grow, participating in the most important fashion weeks and investing heavily in the Web, thus increasing brand awareness.
