The Masamune Razor is Tatara's first razor. It has the appearance of a classic razor but is designed with original touches that look to the future. Its minimalist design conveys purity, elegance, and simplicity to us, enhancing our vision.
The Masamune razor provides a smooth and efficient shave thanks to its small blade gap.
Open Comb Structure
It is designed to guide the beard towards the blade, cutting longer and thicker hairs. The pitted design allows more lather to remain on the face and closer contact between the blade and the skin.
With quality and craftsmanship far beyond what is visible, and a special blade locking system that completely prevents blade chatter or movement, it is ideal for experienced users seeking a close shave. Suitable for intermittent use.

TATARA About
The name TATARA (鑪) is inspired by the furnace that master blacksmiths used to melt steel for Samurai swords in ancient Japan. Our products, like Japanese katanas, are made with extreme dedication and attention to detail. Combining this with the obsessive precision of modern engineering.
Based in Porto, Portugal, we are an engineering team passionate about product development. We came together in September 2016 to conceive, design, and develop TATARA’s shaving products.
Noticing a market saturation in indistinguishable DE razors, we dare to imagine a clean and elegant safety razor (SR). This strongly supported by minimalism and design, and with the goal of achieving a smooth and efficient shave.
During product development, we experimented with several combinations for blade gap, angle, and exposure. Through safety razor users, we perceived that features such as vibration and blade alignment are, in fact, very important to achieve a comfortable and smooth shave.
By ensuring machining tolerances (0.02 mm), we can reinforce the proper positioning of the pieces and limit the blade movements between the razor's plate and cap.
However, we realized there were other variables that still affected the shaving experience!
We knew we could help with wet shaving, and we had found our mission!

Simple yet powerful effect, the 0.73 mm blade gap ensures gentle cutting of the skin, while the negative blade angle (0.10 mm) helps reduce irritation.

Elegant appearance, robust construction, the matte stainless steel material is both aesthetic and durable.

Stable structure preventing vibration, prevents razor vibration thanks to its wide contact surface and provides a smooth shave.

Light and balanced grip, with a weight of approximately 85 grams, it naturally provides the user with control.
