The Masamune Nodachi Titanium Razor was designed to enhance blade feel and achieve an extremely close shave, even for those with irregular and thick beards.
Titanium truly shines with the Nodachi because its weight balance is 45% less than stainless steel. The increase in maneuverability, speed, and confidence with the razor is a complete game-changer.
The Nodachi razor has a longer handle and an enhanced feeling of closeness. All designed for a closer and sharper shave experience.
The Masamune Nodachi model is an update to the Masamune model. Like the original Nodachi katanas, it is long and its blade feel has been enhanced.
With its high blade gap and positive blade exposure, you can feel the blade glide smoothly across your face and achieve an extremely close shave.
The closed comb head is the most preferred head type with a smooth structure. It is designed with small grooves along the edges of the plate so that less skin is exposed to the blade.
With a quality and craftsmanship far beyond what is visible, and a special blade locking system that prevents any blade chatter or play, it is extremely suitable for those who shave daily.

TATARA About
The name TATARA (鑪) is inspired by the furnace that master blacksmiths used in ancient Japan to smelt steel for Samurai swords. Like Japanese katanas, our products are made with extreme dedication and attention to detail. Combining this with the obsessive precision of modern engineering.
Based in Porto, Portugal, we are an engineering team passionate about product development. We came together in September 2016 to imagine, design, and develop TATARA's shaving products.
Noticing a market saturation in DE razors that were no different, we dare to imagine a clean and elegant safety razor (SR). This is strongly supported by minimalism and design, with the aim of achieving a smooth and efficient shave.
During product development, we experimented with various combinations for blade gap, angle, and exposure. Through safety razor users, we perceived that features such as vibration and blade alignment are actually very important for achieving a comfortable and smooth shave.
By ensuring machining tolerances (0.02 mm), we can reinforce the correct seating of parts and limit blade movements between the razor's baseplate and cap.
However, we realized there are other variables that still influence the shaving experience!
We knew we could help wet shaving, and we found our mission!

What does it do

Close and sharp shave — 0.90 mm blade gap and ≈ +0.13 mm blade exposure ensure effective cutting even on dense and coarse hair.

Less irritation and risk of skin nicks — The closed comb plate protects the skin with its slotted edge structure; the blade operates in a less exposed position.

Lightness and durability with titanium body — Due to being lighter than stainless steel, the handle and head are easier to maneuver.

Vibration-free smooth shave — Blade stability is increased thanks to the wide mounting surface; blade vibration during shaving is prevented.
- Aesthetic and tactile quality — The matte surface and sandblasting process offer a more sophisticated experience in terms of both appearance and feel.
- Interchangeability of parts — By combining parts between Masamune and Nodachi versions, shaving aggressiveness/mildness can be adjusted according to user preferences.
