Classic Razor - Masamune Nodachi Stainless Steel
The Nodachi razor has a longer handle and a reinforced sense of closeness. All designed for a closer and sharper shaving experience.
Nodachi is for more experienced users who enjoy a closer shave. It is generally preferred by those with more irregular or thick beards.
The Masamune Nodachi model is an update to the Masamune model. Like the original Nodachi katanas, it is long and has a reinforced blade feel.
With its high blade gap and positive exposure, you can feel the blade glide smoothly across your face and achieve an extremely close shave.
The Black Version razors are coated with PVD technique. This is a special technique that allows for the creation of highly resistant, chemically inert, and biocompatible coatings.
Open Comb Design
Designed to guide the beard towards the blade, cutting longer and thicker hairs. The notched design allows more lather to remain on the face and the blade to come into closer contact with the skin.
With a quality and craftsmanship far beyond what is visible, and a special blade locking system that prevents any blade chatter or movement, it is ideal for experienced users seeking a close shave. Suitable for intermittent use.

TATARA About
The name TATARA (鑪) is inspired by the furnace that master blacksmiths used to melt steel for Samurai swords in ancient Japan. Our products, like Japanese katanas, are made with extreme dedication and attention to detail. We combine this with the obsessive precision of modern engineering.
Based in Porto, Portugal, we are an engineering team passionate about product development. We came together in September 2016 to conceive, design, and develop TATARA’s shaving products.
Perceiving a market saturation in DE razors that were not distinct, we dare to imagine a clean and elegant safety razor (SR). This is strongly supported by minimalism and design, and with the goal of achieving a smooth and efficient shave.
During product development, we experimented with various combinations for blade gap, angle, and exposure. Through safety razor users, we perceived that features such as vibration and blade alignment are in fact very important to achieve a comfortable and smooth shave.
By ensuring machining tolerances (0.02 mm), we can enforce the proper placement of the parts and limit blade movements between the razor’s plate and cap.
However, we realized there were other variables that still affected the shaving experience!
We knew we could help with wet shaving and we had found our mission!
To create extraordinarily long-lasting products in a sustainable way and provide a pleasant and comfortable shaving experience.
What does it do
-
Effective shaving for dense beards: The open comb plate facilitates guiding the beard to the blade, making the cut easier.
-
Close and powerful performance: Thanks to the 0.90 mm blade gap value, the cutting depth is increased, providing effective results even on thick hair.
-
Controlled use: The matte steel surface and lack of blade vibration balance the feel by providing less glare and friction during skin contact.
-
High craftsmanship and durability: The body is machined from a single piece of steel with CNC, manufactured with a tolerance of ±0.02 mm, and finished with sandblasting.
-
Significant blade exposure: In the open comb Nodachi version, the blade exposure is –0.03 mm, which provides a slightly aggressive yet highly controlled shave with the open comb.
