Tatara's natural cork stand is a stand made entirely of natural cork material, specially designed to vertically display machines of models such as Masamune, Nodachi, and Amakuni. It is lightweight, environmentally friendly, and aesthetically pleasing; it protects the bottom surface of the machines and treats them gently against scratches. Thanks to its simple design, it also looks stylish as a decorative object on bathrooms, shelves, or countertops.

The name TATARA (鑪) is inspired by the furnace that master blacksmiths used in ancient Japan to smelt steel for Samurai swords. Like Japanese katanas, our products are made with extreme dedication and attention to detail. We combine this with the obsessive precision of modern engineering.

Based in Porto, Portugal, we are an engineering team passionate about product development. We came together in September 2016 to imagine, design, and develop TATARA's shaving products.

Noticing a market saturation in undifferentiated DE razors, we dared to imagine a clean and elegant safety razor (SR). This is strongly supported by minimalism and design, with the goal of achieving a smooth and efficient shave.

During product development, we experimented with various combinations for blade gap, angle, and exposure. Through safety razor users, we perceived that features such as vibration and blade alignment are actually very important for achieving a comfortable and smooth shave.

By ensuring machining tolerances (0.02 mm), we can reinforce the correct placement of the parts and limit blade movements between the razor's plate and cap.

However, we realized there were other variables still influencing the shaving experience!

We knew we could help with wet shaving, and we had found our mission!
