Each handmade model is produced with a dose of extra Saxon patience; from the tips of the shaving brush and the chrome-plated parts, to the delicately crafted MÜHLE seal at the base of the brush. You are offered freedom of choice in the type of shaving brush hair: depending on your preference, the bristles are produced using either silvertip badger hair or synthetic Silvertip Fibre®. The knot diameter of the shaving brushes in this series is 23 mm.

Porcelain

Although it has existed since ancient Chinese times, porcelain, known as 'white gold' in Europe, began to be produced for the first time in 1708. This highly valuable and elegant material must be handled with extreme care from the beginning of its production to its final stage. Each piece is first shaped, then glazed and heated by hand. Afterwards, the upper and lower parts are joined and matched with chrome-plated brass parts.

HOW TO USE A TRADITIONAL SHAVING SET?

Prepare your shaving lather: Prepare the shaving lather with warm water, a shaving brush, and shaving cream or shaving soap. Wet your shaving brush with warm water and, without shaking the brush, create lather by whisking it in circular motions on the soap/cream in the bowl. You can adjust the consistency of the lather by adding a few drops of water to your brush to make it thicker and richer.
Prepare your skin for shaving: For a perfect traditional wet shave, always shave during or after a hot shower. Apply lather to your skin to soften it and prepare your beard for shaving. Applying shaving lather with a shaving brush helps remove the dead skin layer and lifts the hairs, preparing them for a comfortable shave. Also, if possible, letting the lather sit on your skin for at least 1-2 minutes will soften the beard more and allow for an easier shave.
First grip: The safety razor should be held at a 30-degree angle to the skin. To find the correct angle, first hold the razor parallel to your skin. Then slowly lift the razor upwards; stop as soon as you feel the blade touch your skin, this is the 30-degree angle you need to maintain. You can be sure that you will find the right angle and gain practice after about 5 shaves.
First pass: The most important rule to know when using a safety razor is not to press down. Let the razor do its job with its own weight. Take the first pass in the direction of beard growth. Do not go over areas where you feel the razor is not cutting your beard. A safety razor cuts by reducing the beard, it does not give a baby-smooth shave in one pass. Save these areas for the second pass. One of the simplest causes of irritation is pressing down and repeatedly passing the razor over the skin. Do not allow this!
Second pass: After reapplying lather to your skin, take the second pass also in the direction of beard growth to clean up any remaining hairs. If you want a closer shave, you can shave perpendicular to the direction of beard growth (from nose to ear or ear to nose).
Rinse – moisturize: After shaving, rinse your skin with cold water, then apply aftershave balm or lotion to moisturize, nourish, and refresh it.
