In the Mantuan countryside, there is still someone who continues to produce handmade luxury umbrellas and export them to every corner of the world, using a brand name that will celebrate its 65th anniversary: Pasotti.
The company stands out for its creativity and consistent material research, all exclusively Italian: enameled brass handles, Swarovski® crystals, precious silk fabrics, and magnificent decorations.
Ms. Eva Giacomini, the company owner, says, "The company was founded in 1956 by my mother, Ernesta Pasotti, who started producing one-of-a-kind umbrellas, which she sold directly, sometimes even by bicycle. Later, together with my father Vittorio, who mainly handled sales, the company transformed from a small artisan company to a large company with over a hundred employees. Today, there is no longer room for such industrial production, so we have downsized and focused mostly on limited edition umbrellas. We produce 40 thousand handmade umbrellas a year: very high-quality products sold in the most prestigious boutiques in 75 countries. 93% of our turnover is generated abroad, mainly in Europe, North America, Russia, and China. In addition to the Pasotti collection, we are proud of a series of private label collaborations with the most fashionable brands worldwide."
And thanks to the new generation, Nicola and Andrea Begotti, the overseas market continues to grow, participating in the most important fashion weeks and investing heavily in the Web, thus increasing brand awareness.
