Perfume - Mal-Aime EDP
Mal-Aimé is the creation of Marc-Antoine Corticchiato, a tribute to plants banished from perfume bottles and chic neighborhoods. Going against the refined understanding of fragrance that claims only noble ingredients are worthy, the iconoclastic Mal-Aimé is inspired by a plant as common as its essence. In fact, it is used for the first time in this perfume.
Scented inula – known to botanists as Inula graveolens – grows all over Corsica in scattered clumps with small yellow flowers. Harvested from the maquis and distilled from certified organic plants, its essential oil is a true treasure for a perfumer. Within hours, the emerald green essence reveals its wild, generous facets.
Herbal? You might expect that, given its nature. But inula also borrows its scent from things like rose and its sweetness from honey. While its fragrance is as sunny as the color of its flowers, it is also woody, salty, and musky.
