Perfume - Mal-Aime EDP
Mal-Aimé is the work of Marc-Antoine Corticchiato, an homage to plants exiled from perfume bottles and chic neighborhoods. Opposing the fine fragrance sensibility that only claims noble ingredients, the iconoclastic Mal-Aimé draws inspiration from a plant as common as its essence. In fact, it is being used for the first time in this perfume.
Scented inula – known to botanists as Inula graveolens – grows throughout Corsica in scattered clumps with small yellow flowers. Harvested from the maquis and certified organic, the essential oil distilled from these plants is a true treasure for a perfumer. Within hours, the emerald green essence reveals its wild, generous facets.
Herbal? You might expect at least that from its nature. But inula also borrows its scent from things like rose and its sweetness from honey. Although its fragrance is as sunny as the color of its flowers, it is also woody, salty, and musky.
