Masamune Nodachi Open Comb Base Plate - Steel
Tatara's Masamune Nodachi Open Comb Base Plate is designed to deliver maximum performance on dense and thick beards.
Made from stainless steel, this base plate positions the blade at the correct angle thanks to Tatara's unique "T" slot system and integrates with the handle.
The open comb structure guides the beard directly to the blade and allows more lather to remain on the face, increasing glide and comfort.
With the wide blade gap offered by the Nodachi geometry, it provides an aggressive, close, and effective shaving experience.
Blade Gap: 0.90mm
It is covered by a lifetime warranty against rust and manufacturing defects.

TATARA About
The name TATARA (鑪) is inspired by the furnace that master blacksmiths in ancient Japan used to melt steel for Samurai swords. Like Japanese katanas, our products are made with extreme dedication and attention to detail. Combining this with the obsessive precision of modern engineering.
We are an engineering team based in Porto, Portugal, passionate about product development. We came together in September 2016 to conceive, design, and develop TATARA shaving products.
Noticing a market saturation in undifferentiated DE razors, we dared to envision a clean and elegant safety razor (SR). This, strongly supported by minimalism and design, and with the goal of achieving a smooth and efficient shave.
During product development, we experimented with various combinations for blade gap, angle, and exposure. Through safe razor users, we perceived that features such as vibration and blade alignment are actually very important to achieve a comfortable and smooth shave.
By ensuring machining tolerances (0.02 mm), we can reinforce the correct placement of parts and limit blade movements between the razor's plate and cap.
However, we noticed other variables that still affect the shaving experience!
We knew we could help wet shaving, and we had found our mission!
