How to Use

Prepare your skin for shaving: For a perfect traditional wet shave, always shave during or after a hot shower. Apply lather to your skin to soften it and prepare your beard for shaving. Applying shaving cream with a shaving brush helps remove dead skin cells while lifting hairs to prepare them for a comfortable shave. Also, if possible, allowing the lather to sit on your skin for at least 1-2 minutes will further soften your beard and make shaving easier.
Twist the machine open from its handle, load the blade, and twist it closed from its handle again. Twist the machine open from its head, carefully load the blade inside, place the head pieces back on the shaft in the same order, and close it.
First grip: The safety razor should be held at a 30° angle to the skin. To find the correct angle, first hold the machine parallel to your skin. Then slowly raise the razor, stop as soon as you feel the blade touch your skin; this is the 30° angle you need to hold. You can be sure that after about 5 shaves, you will intuitively find the correct angle and gain practice.
First pass: The most important rule to know when using a safety razor is not to press down. Let the razor do its work with its own weight. Make the first pass in the direction of beard growth. Do not go over areas where you feel the machine is not cutting your beard again. A safety razor cuts by reducing the beard, it does not give a baby-smooth shave in a single pass. Save these areas for the second pass. One of the simplest causes of irritation is pressing down and repeatedly passing the razor over the skin. Do not allow this!
Second pass: After reapplying lather to your skin, clean the remaining beard with the second pass, also in the direction of beard growth. If you want a closer shave, you can shave perpendicular to the direction of beard growth (from nose to ear or ear to nose).
Rinse – moisturize: After shaving, rinse your skin with cold water, then apply aftershave balm or lotion to moisturize, nourish, and refresh it.
