In the Mantuan countryside, there is still someone celebrating their 65th anniversary and continuing to produce handmade luxury umbrellas and export them to every corner of the world, under the brand name: Pasotti.
The company stands out for its creativity and consistent material research, all exclusively Italian: enameled brass handles, Swarovski® crystals, precious silk fabrics, and magnificent decorations.
Ms. Eva Giacomini, the company owner, states, "The company was founded in 1956 by my mother, Ernesta Pasotti, who started producing one-of-a-kind umbrellas which she sold directly, sometimes even riding a bicycle. Later, together with my father Vittorio, who mainly handled sales, the company transformed from a small artisan business into a large enterprise with over one hundred employees. Today, as there is no room for such industrial production, we have scaled down and focused primarily on limited edition umbrellas. We produce 40,000 handmade umbrellas a year: very high-quality products sold in the most prestigious boutiques in 75 countries. 93% of our turnover comes from abroad, mainly Europe, North America, Russia, and China. In addition to the Pasotti collection, we are proud of a series of private label collaborations with the most fashionable brands worldwide."
And thanks to the new generation, Nicola and Andrea Begotti, the overseas market continues to grow, participating in the most important fashion weeks and investing heavily in the Web, thereby increasing brand awareness.
