The history of glove production began in Sanità, one of the city's oldest neighborhoods.
This tradition has been in existence for over two centuries and saw its golden age under the House of Bourbon.
It was precisely at this time that the oldest glove factory was born. In 1923, Gennaro Squillace founded Omega Srl, which is now managed by the fifth-generation maître gantier, Alberto Squillace.
Omega production carries out a limited number of productions each year to ensure the highest attention and care to detail at all times. Their creations are made from the finest leathers, such as plongé lamb, peccary, carpinchos, and deer, and are lined with pure silk and cashmere from Biella, ensuring the highest quality befitting their "Made in Naples" characteristic.

The entire production process, including tanning, dyeing, and processing, belongs to the craft tradition since Roman times and is carried out under the close supervision of the Squillace family at the foot of Vesuvius. Cutting, stitching, and quality control are done in their workshops located in the historic glove-making district.
Despite its minimal aspect, the procedure for making a single glove involves no less than 25 production stages, each performed strictly by hand by master craftsmen with 'a lifetime' of experience in this field of expertise.
