How to Use

Usage and Tips

- First, when you buy a new shaving brush, lather it 1-2 times with shaving soap and rinse it before the first use to remove any shelf and manufacturing dust, then leave it to dry in a well-ventilated area.

- Boar bristle brushes are organic bristles and therefore require pre-preparation. You should soften the bristles by soaking the brush in lukewarm water for half a minute, ensuring the base is submerged, then you can start lathering.

- After pre-softening, move the wet brush, without shaking off too much water, over the cream or soap. Continue until you achieve your desired lather, adjusting with a little water or a little product until it reaches a whipped cream consistency.

- Then, gently move the brush over your face in circular motions to soften your beard and skin.

- If you shave intermittently and use aggressive razors, moving the brush on your face for at least 1.5 minutes is important for preparation for shaving.

- Reapply lather to your face with the brush between each pass.

- After shaving, it is important to rinse the brushes very well. If brushes are not rinsed properly, alkali buildup can occur at the base of the bristles. This can lead to excessive shedding of bristles over time. This is considered user error.

- To extend the life of your brushes, rinse them under running water from all angles, opening up the bases thoroughly, and hang them to dry in a well-ventilated area.

- Boar bristle brushes have organic bristles, and boiling & very hot water will deform the bristles.

- Do not expose your brush to water that is too hot to touch. Boiling water will deform the bristles and also damage the adhesive at the bristle roots.

- Do not expose your brushes to any chemicals. Do not leave them wet in a closed environment where they cannot dry.

- With all shaving brushes, when first starting to use them, it is normal for 3-5 bristles to shed with each shave. Bristles that cannot adhere to the knot will shed, and this will decrease and stop within the first 1.5 months.

- A well-cared-for boar brush can be used for approximately 6-7 years. This period may extend further depending on usage.

- Boar bristle brushes are stiff. Over time, they break in and the tips will split and soften. For this reason, it will be better to lather in a bowl rather than on your face until the brush has fully broken in.
