The "cosmopolitan approach" with its contemporary and elegant design has been a role model in the development of this series. The unique style and appearance of the series has been achieved with unique carefully selected materials such as high quality resin or horn color. Olive wood was chosen as the natural material for a warm effect and dark bog oak as a contrast to this. Parts taken from tree trunks up to about 3000 years old were used for each shaving product. High quality chrome additions have been made in a simple design to further emphasize the surface finish of the handle. Just like many of our other series, our KOSMO series is presented to you with different bristle options in shaving brushes: gray badger, fine badger and vegan “Silvertip Fiber”. In addition, the shaving brush heads can be easily removed and replaced. The knot diameter of the shaving brushes of this series is 21 mm. The choice between Gillette® Fusion ™, Mach3® and classic razor (safety razor) and razor systems offers different options for every man.

Silvertip Fibre®The high-quality synthetic fibres represent a world first of our own invention. We offer a synthetically produced premium quality whose material characteristics are analogous to those of the precious natural hair, silvertip badger. The majority of the users even say that this quality actually provides better performance characteristics than the natural hair.'Silvertip Fibre®' is very soft at its fine tips, but somewhat more stable than natural hair in the middle section. These characteristics produce a pleasant, soft sensation on the skin when the lather is applied, without having to forgo the desired firmness of the hairs in the lathering process. In daily use, the manually processed fibres are less sensitive than natural hair as they dry more quickly and are resistant to shaving soaps and creams. The completely vegan fibres are also somewhat easier to use than natural hair as they produce a particularly creamy and thick lather from a small amount of shaving soap or cream, which is used much more sparingly as a result.

The Material - Olive wood

Since ancient times, olive wood has been valued for its outstanding material characteristics and warm colouring. It is to be found throughout the Mediterranean region and has been used for centuries to make durable goods or artistic objects.

The wood we use must be dried carefully for months before the handles are turned. We then sand the surfaces, seal them with oil and polish them to a silky finish. This brings out the gentle, honey-coloured grain of the wood particularly well.

Without chrome the world would forfeit a lot of its lustre. In the finish used for our wet shaving accessories it demonstrates its best qualities: The material is corrosion-resistant, very long-lasting and has a luxurious, alluring lustre. When contrasted with this, the colours and shapes of other premium materials are shown to their very best advantage.

As natural materials, olive wood was chosen for a warm effect, contrasted by dark bog oak. For each shaving product, pieces from tree trunks approximately 3000 years old were used. To further emphasize the surface appearance of the handle, high-quality chrome inserts were added with a simple design. Like many of our other series, our KOSMO series is offered with different bristle options for shaving brushes: grey badger, fine badger, and vegan Silvertip Fibre. The blade systems are not interchangeable within themselves and are all distinct from one another.

How to Use

- In traditional shaving, preparation is important. For shave preparation, the skin and beard must be softened, and this process should only be done with lather obtained from cream or soap.

- The skin should be softened by applying the whipped cream-consistency shaving foam with a shaving brush. Moving the brush with foam on your face for about 1 minute is sufficient to soften and stimulate the beard.

- Open the head of your razor. Hold the blade by its short edge, insert it into the razor, and close it.

- If your razor is a 3-piece, it will open by twisting its head; if it's a 2-piece, it will open by twisting the mechanism on the handle.

- Then, start shaving. Closed-comb razors only touch the skin at a 30-45 degree angle. They cannot make direct contact with the skin. Open-comb razors, however, can make direct contact. These razors cut and shorten the beard, so you need to shave in passes. It is important to shave according to the direction of your beard growth.

- For the first pass, shave in the same direction as your beard growth. While this direction is from top to bottom on the cheeks, it may vary on the neck. Every man has a different beard growth direction, and this cannot be changed by the shaving direction.

- Do not press. Classic razors shave with their own weight. Gently hold the razor by its handle and do not press it against your skin. Allow it to glide with the foam and blade. For those new to traditional shaving, our primary goal is a irritation-free shave, not necessarily a perfectly close one. As you get used to it (after about 8-10 shaves), close shaves will come naturally. Do not go over the same spot repeatedly.

- After the first pass, reapply lather to your face with a brush or your hand. For the second pass, shave in the same direction again or in a cross-directional manner for a closer shave (e.g., from ear to cheek, or cheek to ear).

- The skin perceives each blade contact as an impact. After shaving, it is important to soothe this impact. Aftershave products contain highly soothing ingredients. If you have problems like dryness, itching, or redness, use a balm. If you do not experience such discomforts, you can use a lotion for a lighter effect. Using both together is also common; you can apply lotion first, then balm.

- We recommend not shaving against the grain until you are fully accustomed to the razor. This can cause undesirable conditions like irritation or ingrown hairs.

- Mühle classic razors have chrome-plated heads made of metal. Applying excessive force to metal parts causes screw deformation; please do not do this. Oiling metal parts a few times a year with metal oil will extend the life of your razor.

- After shaving, remove the blade from the razor, dry it, and store it in its paper wrapper. Mühle razors are made from stainless zamak alloy. However, we do not recommend prolonged contact of the surface with a rusty blade.

- While the average number of uses for razor blades is 4-5, this depends directly on the razor used, frequency of shaving, blade brand, and skin type. Therefore, each person's number of uses is unique. Change the blade as soon as you feel it pulling your beard instead of cutting it. Do not shave with a dull blade, as it will cause irritation.

- If your shaving brush is made of animal hair, you need to pre-soften it. Soaking the brush in warm water (never boiling) for about 1 minute, allowing the roots of the bristles to be submerged, will soften the brush bristles and prepare them for loading. If your bristle type is Fibre, you can directly wet it and start shaving.

- After each use, shaving brushes must be rinsed very well and left to air dry. Alkaline buildup occurring in brushes that are not rinsed properly at the base leads to bristle shedding after a while, and this is considered user error.

- Do not expose brush bristles to water that is too hot for your hand to touch. This will both damage the bristles and degrade the epoxy at the base of the brush.

- We recommend not applying excessive force to the handle of your brush while making circular motions.
