If you plan to construct a comprehensive wardrobe, one that includes all the essential pieces, then it makes sense to begin at the very bottom. Historically too, man has always neglected to invest in underwear for himself, the reason for this being perhaps, that bar the odd subculture (and Superman) it is still considered uncouth to expose them in public. Therefore, if this most fundamental element of clothing is only seen by one's partner, doctor or personal tailor – much like perforated socks covered by shoes – then why bother? Gentlemen, you know what we mean.
Made in Italy.
Enis, the owner of Sartoria Napoletana, first started tailoring years ago when he went to London to study English. A family friend offered him a job at Norton and Sons, one of Savile Row's most respected tailors, and it was there that he first experienced what bespoke fashion was. Later, when he returned to Istanbul, he worked full-time in several tailor shops and, after gaining years of experience, established his own Naples-Istanbul-based brand.
Enis believes that in the inherently indecisive world of fashion, there are trends that never truly disappear, and many of them can be learned by looking to the past. In his designs, he draws inspiration from international fashion icons and certain historical figures.
“I try to teach people every day what bespoke clothing is. The price of the garment doesn't matter. Our prices are suitable for almost every budget. Bespoke clothing is a luxury, yes, but people are now moving away from cheap products. If you buy five suits a year, don't. Buy two and make sure they are high quality. Create a budget for that. You don't need to be rich to dress bespoke or to have style.”
With Enis's designs, which go far beyond the role of just a tailor to help people achieve a complete style, Sartoria Napoletana products are now available at Bonherre…
