The Masamune Razor is Tatara's first razor. It has the appearance of a classic razor but is designed with unique touches that look to the future. Its minimalist design supports our vision with purity, elegance, and simplicity.
The titanium razor is roughly 55% lighter than the steel version. When it comes to maneuverability, Tatara titanium tools are game-changers. They provide more control over the amount of pressure, angle, and direction of the blade. Thus, the shave adapts to your technique.
The Masamune razor provides a smooth and efficient shave thanks to its small blade gap.

Due to titanium's low thermal conductivity, the razor's temperature easily adapts to your skin. This provides a more comfortable shave. It offers a premium shaving experience that you can add to.
The closed comb head is the most preferred head type with a smooth structure. The skin is designed with small grooves along the edges of the plate to expose less of the blade.
With a quality and craftsmanship far beyond what is visible, and a special blade locking system that prevents any blade vibration or play, it is extremely suitable for those who shave daily.

TATARA About
The name TATARA (鑪) is inspired by the furnace that master blacksmiths in ancient Japan used to melt steel for Samurai swords. Like Japanese katanas, our products are made with extreme dedication and attention to detail. We combine this with the obsessive precision of modern engineering.
Based in Porto, Portugal, we are an engineering team passionate about product development. We came together in September 2016 to conceive, design, and develop TATARA’s shaving products.
Noticing a market saturation in DE razors that were not distinct, we dared to imagine a clean and elegant safety razor (SR). This is strongly supported by minimalism and design, with the aim of achieving a smooth and efficient shave.
During product development, we experimented with various combinations for blade gap, angle, and exposure. Through safety razor users, we perceived that features such as vibration and blade alignment are actually very important for achieving a comfortable and smooth shave.
By ensuring machining tolerances (0.02 mm), we can reinforce the correct placement of the parts and limit blade movements between the razor's plate and cap.
However, we noticed other variables that still affect the shaving experience!
We knew we could help wet shavers, and we found our mission!

Less weight, more precise control — The titanium version is approximately 55% lighter than stainless steel, increasing control and maneuverability during shaving.

Closed comb plate that reduces irritation — Thanks to its grooved edges, blade exposure to the skin is minimal (approximately –0.13 mm), offering comfort even for sensitive skin.

Clean and consistent cut — The 0.63 mm blade gap provides proper balance, ensuring a clean shave that is sharp enough without being overly aggressive.

Durability of titanium — A lighter (55%) and more corrosion-resistant option compared to stainless steel, offering advantages for portability and long-term use.

Craftsmanship and surface quality — After CNC machining, tolerances are kept low, and manual sandblasting is performed; this minimizes marks and imperfections on the handle.
