The Nodachi razor has a longer handle and a heightened sense of proximity. All are designed for a closer and sharper shaving experience.
Nodachi is for more experienced users who enjoy a closer shave. It is generally preferred by those with more irregular or thick beards.
The Masamune Nodachi model is an update of the Masamune model. Like the original Nodachi katanas, it is long and has a heightened blade feel.
With its high blade gap and positive exposure, you can feel the blade glide smoothly across your face and achieve an extremely close shave.
Thanks to the combination of advanced blade gap (0.90 mm) and positive blade exposure (≈ +0.13 mm), it allows for cutting hairs very closely.
The closed comb head is the most preferred head type with a smooth structure. It is designed with small grooves along the edges of the plate, so the skin is less exposed to the blade.
With quality and craftsmanship far beyond what is visible, and a special blade locking system that completely eliminates blade rattle or play, it is extremely suitable for those who shave daily.

TATARA Hakkında
The name TATARA (鑪) is inspired by the furnace that master blacksmiths in ancient Japan used to smelt steel for Samurai swords. Like Japanese katanas, our products are also made with extreme dedication and attention to detail. Combining this with the obsessive precision of modern engineering.
Based in Porto, Portugal, we are an engineering team passionate about product development. We came together in September 2016 to imagine, design, and develop TATARA’s shaving products.
Noticing a market saturation in non-differentiating DE razors, we dare to imagine a clean and elegant safety razor (SR). This, strongly supported by minimalism and design, and with the goal of achieving a smooth and efficient shave.
During product development, we experimented with several combinations for blade gap, angle, and exposure. Through safety razor users, we perceived that features such as vibration and blade alignment are, in fact, very important to achieve a comfortable and smooth shave.
By ensuring machining tolerances (0.02 mm), we can empower the precise positioning of the parts and limit the blade movements between the plate and the cap of the razor.
However, we still noticed other variables that affect the shaving experience!
We knew we could help wet shaving and we found our mission!
