How to Use

Prepare your skin for shaving: For a perfect traditional wet shave, always shave during or after a hot shower. Apply lather to your skin to soften it and prepare your beard for shaving. Applying shaving cream with a shaving brush helps remove dead skin cells and lifts the hairs, preparing them for a comfortable shave. Also, if possible, allowing the lather to sit on your skin for at least 1-2 minutes will further soften your beard and make shaving easier.
Twist the razor open by the handle, load the blade, and twist it closed by the handle again. Or, twist the razor open by the head, carefully load the blade inside, reassemble the head pieces in the same order, place them on the handle, and close.
First grip: The safety razor should be held at a 30° angle to the skin. To find the correct angle, first hold the razor parallel to your skin. Then slowly raise the razor upwards, and stop as soon as you feel the blade touching your skin; this is the 30° angle you should maintain. You can be sure that after about 5 shaves, you will instinctively find the correct angle and gain practice.
First pass: The most important rule to know when using a safety razor is not to press down. Let the razor do its job with its own weight. Make the first pass in the direction of hair growth. Do not go over areas where you feel the razor is not cutting your hair again. A safety razor cuts hair by reducing it, it does not give a baby-smooth shave in a single pass. Save these areas for the second pass. One of the simplest causes of irritation is pressing down and going over the skin repeatedly with the razor blade. Do not allow this!
Second pass: After reapplying lather to your skin, clean the remaining hairs in the second pass, also in the direction of hair growth. If you want a closer shave, you can shave perpendicular to the direction of hair growth (from nose to ear or ear to nose).
Rinse – moisturize: After shaving, rinse your skin with cold water, and then moisturize, nourish, and refresh it by applying aftershave balm or lotion.
