How to Use

Prepare your skin for shaving: For a perfect traditional wet shave, always shave during or after a hot shower. Apply lather to your skin to soften it and prepare your beard for shaving. Applying shaving cream with a shaving brush helps remove dead skin cells and lifts the hairs, preparing them for a comfortable shave. Also, if possible, allowing the lather to sit on your skin for at least 1-2 minutes will further soften your beard and make shaving easier.
Twist the razor open from the handle, load the blade, and twist it closed again from the handle. Or, twist the razor open from the head, carefully load the blade, stack the head pieces back in the same way, place them on the handle, and close.
First grip: The safety razor should be held at a 30° angle to the skin. To find the correct angle, first hold the razor parallel to your skin. Then slowly raise the razor upwards; as soon as you feel the blade touch your skin, stop – this is the 30° angle you should maintain. You can be sure that after about 5 shaves, you will intuitively find the correct angle and gain practice.
First pass: The most important rule to know when using a safety razor is not to press down. Allow the razor to do its work with its own weight. Make the first pass in the direction of hair growth. Do not go over areas again where you feel the razor isn't cutting your beard. A safety razor cuts the beard by reducing it; it does not provide a baby-smooth shave in a single pass. Save these areas for the second pass. One of the simplest causes of irritation is pressing down and repeatedly passing the razor over the skin. Do not allow this!
Second pass: After reapplying lather to your skin, clean the remaining hairs in the second pass, also in the direction of hair growth. If you want a closer shave, you can shave perpendicular to the direction of hair growth (from nose to ear or ear to nose).
Rinse – moisturize: After shaving, rinse your skin with cold water, then apply aftershave balm or lotion to moisturize, nourish, and refresh it.
