Balance is a delicate matter. It becomes even more delicate at a "çilingir sofrası" (a traditional Turkish rakı table). The balance of conversation, the balance of rakı, becomes more and more delicate as the number of glasses increases. A desire to challenge this delicate balance emerges. Perhaps also a desire to be admired. Risks are taken. Sometimes the result is a legendary story; sometimes it's a memory recalled with "if only"s. Artist Vardal Caniş created two designs that evoke such moments. They made a beautiful pair together.

The 500-year-old raki culture continues to rejuvenate over time, embracing different colors and dynamic energy. While classic names like Hamiyet Yüceses and Müzeyyen Senar are joined by new voices such as Hayko Cepkin and Gaye Su Akyol, new generation meyhanes are also emerging alongside classic ones. Raki is no longer merely a drink for paternalistic middle-aged men; it is transforming into a culture where people of all stripes blend creativity, taste, zest for life, music, mezzes, and camaraderie. The white of raki is now becoming a spectrum that embraces differences.

Anason İşleri was born with the aim of bringing this vibrant, revitalized raki culture together with the language of design. They aimed to step out of the office environment and the digital world to create products that touch daily lives, tables, and homes. Adopting the principle of transforming crisis into design, they produced anise-scented items. They created innovative designs across a wide range, from raki glasses to meze plates, tablecloths to t-shirts, wallpapers to accessories. Anason İşleri aims to give raki culture a universal form by collaborating with innovative designers.
