The idea, content, design, and production of this tablecloth (we checked the calendar) took exactly 1 year and 17 days. And we didn't even write any text. For the much-loved Newspaper Tablecloth, Metin had sat down and made up all the content in just a few hours. For this Real Newspaper Tablecloth, which we worked so hard on, all the content is real. But selecting them, getting everyone to like them; making sure the top and bottom edges align; ensuring compliance with current laws, etc., naturally prolonged the process.

There are news items from the 1920s. And from the 1970s. A selection of real newspaper clippings that were actually published in this country. There are stories about raki, taverns, and grapes, as well as character analyses based on melon-eating styles. During the research phase, we came across amazing news items, but our space was limited. If only our tables were as long as that 50-meter table where Denethor hungrily ate cherry tomatoes, we could have included them all.

In short, as we said, we worked very hard. Our content researchers suffered from burnout. Our designer went blind. Be careful not to get a slipped disc while reading the news items, which are as tiny as ant prayers. In the end, we are satisfied with the result. It will spark conversation, make you laugh, and surprise you at your table.

The 500-year-old rakı culture continues to rejuvenate over time, incorporating different colors and dynamic energy. Rakı is no longer merely a beverage belonging to middle-aged or older fatherly men; it is transforming into a culture where people of all kinds blend creativity, gusto, zest for life, music, mezzes, and conversation. Rakı white is now evolving into a spectrum that embraces differences.

Anason İşleri was born with the aim of bringing this vibrant, revitalized rakı culture together with the language of design. They set out to create products that touch daily life, tables, and homes, stepping outside of the office environment and the digital world. Adopting the principle of turning crisis into design, they produced anise-scented products. They have created innovative designs across a wide range, from rakı glasses to meze plates, from tablecloths to t-shirts, from wallpapers to accessories. Anason İşleri aims to transform rakı culture into a universal form by collaborating with innovative designers.
