The story of the BIC brand begins with Marcel Bich Clichy purchasing a facility in France in 1944 and partnering with writing instruments maker Edouard Buffard.

Marcel Bich introduced the Cristal ballpoint pen in France in 1950 with his invention, which he developed believing in the potential of the ballpoint pen. Over time, BIC ballpoint pens became famous all over the world, while in 1975 the company bought the Greek brand Violex razor blades and launched the first single razor blade.

The BIC brand, known for the success of its lighters and pens, is also known for its very good quality shaving products.
